For White House enthusiasts the opportunity to actually own pieces of history is normally very rare. However, thanks to the generosity of President and Mrs. Reagan, prior to their deaths, they arranged for Christie’s New York to auction some of their personal items. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the work of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.
According to Christie’s, the entire 700 unit collection will be on view at Christies New York from September 17 through September 20 with the live auction on September 21–22 and the online component on September 19–28.
The Reagan auction catalog includes very recognizable and iconic jewelry, memorabilia, furniture, books, paintings, and photographs from President and Mrs. Reagan’s private residence in Bel Air, CA. Having seen several of the items while they were in Dallas on tour- it is one not to miss!
